An Unpopular Opinion About Students

 "Students of today are the future of tomorrow."

Once upon a time, there was a year 2019. This was the year that changed everything and literally everything. It would be a large discussion if we'll talk about everything but believe me it will not going to be a short one even if we will talk about any one thing. Being a student I would like to take this opportunity to talk about students. It is also the demand of the situation as the students of today are the future of tomorrow.

When I look back to 2019 I see a year where a lot of people especially students with various mindsets are roaming on Earth. Some were studying very sincerely or doing some jobs to get settle and secure their future while only a few of them were doing what they are really interested in. There were also some students who were not serious about their lives. They were only enjoying the present moment and not worrying about their future.

Suddenly, news of COVID-19 seized the moment. The world with a lot of happy faces suddenly gets converted into a world of surprised and frightened faces. The fear of death had spread everywhere. People started dying and as time passed the number of deaths started increasing exponentially. It was the era of long gloomy days with dying hope. People were worrying only about their lives and everyone else's life. Schools and colleges had a lot of reasons to be closed and so, they were closed.

As one sees the death coming he/she knows what he/she has to do with his/her life. Similarly, after facing a near-death experience and a lot of deaths all around the world we thought to make ourselves safe and do what we found interesting to do. Also, we started doing what we can really do great that is learning. We chose our interested areas and started digging bit to bit. That was the golden era of our learning. We were doing those things passionately.

With passing time we started to learn how to live during this pandemic. A majority of the section came to the online platforms. The poor and, the people who had no internet connectivity were far away from this change. Then, like everything, schools and colleges get started online. Not everyone but most of the students came back to online classes. Now their routine changed from doing something they were really interested in to completing the assignments and tests given by their professors. Again, a bulk of workload diminished the burning passion of students for doing something in their interest areas.

As the medium of teaching has changed we are feeling a need for change in the teaching methods too. Frankly saying the old methods are too boring for students as well as the teachers. We need some effective ways to stay interested in learning from our teachers. I think talking to students and finding some solutions will be one way to do it. Also, taking exams, tests, and classes on very short notices is very dangerous for the mental health of a student. Thinking about the student is to think about the future as students of today are the future of tomorrow. So please, save today, save tomorrow.
